08/28/09
SCCC at VT attends Gobblerfest with dozens of other student organizations to introduce the group to new students.
05/01/08
Data are collected from 184 entries to a survey & quiz regarding concealed carry on campus. Results were posted to the website.
04/24/08
SCCC at VT hosts Eric Thompson, owner of TGSCOM, Inc., for a speech about firearms sales and in support of self-defense rights on campus. TGSCOM had random links to both the VT & NIU shooters via legal sales, and media made this into nationwide hype.
04/21/08
Firearms Education Week and the Empty Holster Protest kick off.
Midday, we gain our 200th member!

SCCC at VT is featured on ABC Nightline News with Terry Moran, in arguably the best report on the group to date. See our YouTube account for video.
04/08/08
SCCC at VT announces that April 16th, 2008 is a day of mourning, not a day of protest, for our organization. No TV interviews, no activities, and definitely no protests will take place on that day.

We are now an officially registered student organization (RSO)!!!!

SCCC at VT goes to “town hall” meeting with VT admin to discuss April 16th response measures and ask questions – see video.

SCCC at VT goes to see Gov. Kaine speak in Roanoke, and asks a tough question – see video.
03/16/08
All Officer positions are filled and the first meeting takes place. Plans immediately go into place to engage in some community activities, and long-term plans begin development.

VT SCCC Strategic Plan is released to 120 members after weeks of work and revisions. THANK YOU to everyone who helped!
